A downloadable chess variant

A new way to play chess.

Instead of pawns, you have bowling balls, and instead of rooks, knights, bishops, and such you have bowling pins.

The bowling balls move slowly, but can knock down multiple pins in a single turn.

The bowling pins can move very far, but be careful where you place them.

General Rules:

The rules are mostly the same as regular chess except for these changes:

All pawns are considered Bowling Balls and all other pieces are considered Bowling Pins.

Ball movement rules:

Balls have the same movement rules as pawns:

They can move 1 or 2 spaces forward.

Bowling balls also share the capture rules as pawns but with one major difference:

They can capture diagonally ahead of them. If the piece they capture is a pin, they can immediately capture another piece if possible.

You are not able to preform En Passant with the bowling balls

If a bowling ball reaches the opposite end of the board it does not promote, instead it is considered ‘bowled over’ and is unable to be captured by your opponent

If you can get 2 of your bowling ball ‘bowled over’, you win the game

Pin movement rules:

Pins have the exact same movement and capture rules as the Queen in regular chess.

They can move and capture any amount of spaces in the 8 cardinal directions.

You are not able to preform castling with the bowling pins since there are no rooks or kings.

If you capture all of your opponent’s pins, you win the game.

Win Conditions:

1.) Capture all of your opponent’s pins

2.) Get 2 of your Bowling Balls 'bowled over'

3.) In the event of a stalemate, the player who has more pin pieces remaining wins, if both players have the same number of pins, then it is a draw.
